Mar is a piece composed by Kjartan Ólafsson. It was played by the Icelandic Symphony Orchestra in the Dark Music Days festival 2023. It is a stunning tone poem of sort, it paints a very colorful picture of the sea in a beautiful fashion. Kjartan himself describes the piece as a colourful wavy journey and I think he executed it very well. I could imagine the sea glimmering in the sun. Truly a night to remember in Harpa.
